The (not so clean) Bed

Saturday, January 27th, 2007
Finally I am back from bangalore. The two day trip has been heavy [on my bed].Its so full of things that it can hardly be seen ;). Want to have a look at it? Here’s the snap.

On this half are my clothes, the book I bought on bangalore airport and my quilt. Then there’s my sleeping bag:

This part is a bit more active… The Maya book, wavelet theory book lying beneath the newspaper which in turn is below the wafers packet has been there for quite some time. then there’s my pillow, the t-shirt from Topcoder a empty box of Danish Cookies many other things:

This… is my table’s half that is not occupied by the computer. Lying here is all the stuff that I at least touch once a day.

Bharat Punarnirman

Tuesday, January 23rd, 2007

Now that is something that has been on my mind for sometime now. “Bharat Punarnirman” basically means re-building India. I came across this term when mutiny reported on this website recently.

Though I do what I like most and fortunately I am good at doing it, sometimes I can’t stop thinking about where our country is going. When I look at the reports in various newspapers daily, I find loads of stuff about how India is “shining”; One day, she crosses some few hundred billion US$ in foreign exchange reserves or sometimes she becomes the to-be IT/BPO/blah center of the world. But what amazes me is how we are celebrating this when the Chinese counterparts are about 5-6 times better then us. We excel in one field, they do so is 10 others. Where exactly are we going? Seriously - I do not know.

This is where the topic of the post comes in, re-building India. We need leadership which is powerful enough and confident enough to envision more then what horizon offers today. A group which is young enough to discard all the old beliefs but old enough to know the right from the wrong. A vision that is clear and strong enough to set us in a correct direction but flexible enough to let every person of the country to get along and prosper. I dont know how this party will perform but I sure hope they do what they aim to.

Hopefully I’ll someday hear someone say:

I want to be a politician.

Updates: I had some figures wrong. Amit pointed it out to me today. The indian forex reserve is somewhere near 200 billion $.

Hindi

Thursday, January 11th, 2007

The rest of the post is in hindi and so in case you cant read it, try going to this page on wikipedia.
