Blogging is difficult

I have been stuck at the first few lines of this post for last two days!! After writing and deleting posts on different topics and keeping the WordPress dashboard open for 48 hours continuously, I have decided to give this page a break and at least show that I am trying to write something… So a completely “no-use-blog-post”. Let it be here on my blog to show that I am trying :)

Image Processing… some code

Yesterday a strange thing happened. While talking to one of my friends, I realised I had done quite a few things in my Image processing class at DAIICT. One of such projects(or you can simply call it one big assignment) was diPro[digital image Processing]. I wanted to learn C# in those years and  had done a few other projects in it. Just out of curiosity, I started using C# for the Assignment. In the assignment, we were supposed to generate various images, add noise to image(all these can be found in the generations menu item). In addition, I also implemented a few simple kernel filters. The executables for the program can be found here. (more…)

DAIICT

I did my undergraduate studies from DAIICT(Dhirubhai Ambani Institute of Information and Communication Technology). I liked that place a lot and believe it is one of the best place from where I could have done my undergrad. The course curriculum at DAIICT is a really unique one. When rest of the Indian Institutes taught physics, chem and things in Mechanical Engineering, at DAIICT students started out with what they came there to do: “Information and Communication Technology”. The curriculum at DAIICT enabled those who are motivated to reach places where others are likely to have tough times reaching.

Vitamins and Pain Killers

I am taking a course on Entrepreneurship in Inforation Age offered by Prof. Ramesh Jain. In one of the first classes he was talking about how different companies are created and why some of them succeed while others don’t. One interesting phrase that is used was “Vitamins and Pain-killers”. Vitamins are used to prevent something from happening. In our case, if there is a problem that people may face in future, Vitamins would be used to prevent those from happening. Pain killers are, on the other hand, used to heal or remove a problem that one already faces. Given a choice, which one would you choose? My classmate chose pain killer. And he was probably correct in representing what we all feel. (more…)
